This is a great pan!

I received this pan yesterday and made brownies this morning to bring to a friend. I had read the one not-so-kind review and was somewhat skeptical about what the results would be. The pan is not thin at all, like the previous reviewer stated, but a very substantial weight. I used a package mix and used an ice-cream scoop to make sure all the chambers had an even amount of batter in them. I sprayed the pan with cooking spray beforehand and baked them for 35 minutes, instead of the 45 minutes that was recommended on the box. I cooled them for about half an hour and then used a plastic knife to loosen the edges. They lifted right out of the pan! I cut one of the loaves into bite-sized servings and kept the other two intact, to cut when we are ready to eat them. I was very pleasantly surprised! I will be purchasing another pan for a friend for Christmas, as she is always interested in any new cooking gadgets that I buy. I am so glad I bought this! Jo--Sonoma County, California

It's not great for brownies...but it is "ok" for tea loaves and quick breads.

Yes. I am a brownie lover. I try anything that can make better brownies. This pan is simply "ok" for what it is, but is overpriced. For starters, this is a pretty thin pan (think muffin pan from any chain big box - in terms of construction), and I would expect to pay [...] bucks for such.Filling the pan was not overly easy...but now I have learned to scoop into each loaf chamber one after another until the batter bowl is empty. Don't just pour into it and eyeball it...as you will have a thin burnt loaf and a thick and gooey one if you are not careful. You are making 3 long loaves...so treat this like filling a muffin pan.The dark coating seems to heat up a bit faster than I like...given the thin metal this can cause a few burnt edges.I didn't like it for brownies (for the above reasons), and also because I didn't have a spatula that fit the small chambers, and using metal is not permitted, as it is "non-stick". My brownies didn't flip out either...it was sort of a dig to get them removed.I do think it makes pretty cute little tea loaves of banana bread. Just a word of caution, hit it with some non-stick spray and flour before baking. That helps a lot.As a brownie pan - this is a two star at best, as a tea loaf pan it would be a 3-4 star rating.
